Sparkly dresses, party poppers, music, and a meal to die for? The Labor Club Belconnen is the perfect NYE for those who like their fun without the fuss. And did someone say ‘staycation’?

To welcome 2022, The Canberra Labor Club Belconnen is hosting a big bash (with the perfect amount of flash), full of food, music, and fun. But the best part? With the Mercure Belconnen Hotel right next door, you can say goodbye to transport hassles and book a stress-free night.

You’ll still have all of the fun of a night out on the town without needing to spend a fortune on an Uber or set foot near the crowds. Simply book ahead and choose a room that overlooks Lake Ginninderra or the Brindabellas and greet the New Year with a staycation you won’t forget.

Dress up or dress down depending on what you prefer, drop your suitcases in a spacious room next door and relax as the Labor Club and Mercure Belconnen Hotel staff make the night all about you.

Start the evening off with a three-course meal for just $69 per person. For entrée, try pan-seared scallop and prawns served with champagne sauce, or oven-baked Mediterranean eggplant, while the main course might tempt you with seared salmon topped with asparagus or oven-baked chicken breast stuffed with avocado and seafood.

For dessert, choose from strawberries and cream or passionfruit cheesecake while enjoying an indulgent cocktail (or two). If you have dietary requirements, don’t worry, the Labor Club can cater their meals upon request.

Of course, New Year’s Eve wouldn’t be complete without a band. Playing until early morning with a setlist featuring a splash of reggae, funk, soul, and RnB, Special K Band will rock the night away with their iconic energetic performance. There will also be a photo wall, plenty of party hats, and a New Year’s countdown to keep the festive fun alive well into the night.

With a breakfast offering the next day at the Mercure Belconnen Hotel and a late checkout time (subject to availability), we don’t know about you, but a relaxed and fun entry into 2022 is just what we need.
