National Zoo and Aquarium

The National Zoo and Aquarium is the only combined zoo and aquarium in Australia and is privately owned. It is located in Yarralumla at the western end of Lake Burley Griffin, next to Scrivener Dam. The zoo section is home to over 200 species of animals, including big cats, primates, birds, reptiles, and Australian native animals like kangaroos, wallabies, and wombats. Some of the most popular animals at the zoo include the Sumatran tiger, the African lion, the cheetah, and the red panda. The aquarium features a variety of marine life, including sharks, stingrays, tropical fish, and sea turtles.
